On 6 March, in the meeting with Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Executive Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Secretary General Shi noted that ASEAN-China relations have been thriving. Solid economic, trade and investment cooperation between ASEAN and China has risen from the impact of COVID-19, injecting stronger impetus into regional development. Both sides are actively expanding cooperation in emerging industries. The recovery of personnel exchanges has gained an encouraging momentum. Vietnam and China are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. The leaders of both side reached consensus on building a Vietnam-China community with a shared future with strategic significance, which ensures the bilateral relations moving along the path blessed with flourishing opportunities. The ACC has been committed to promoting economic cooperation and trade between ASEAN and China as well as between Vietnam and China, with the focus on emerging industries and building a platform for exchanges and cooperation. The ACC organized a group of more than 20 business representatives from various sectors including infrastructure, electronic industry, new energy, and finance, hoping that the group could match the needs of the Vietnamese side, explore business opportunities, and promote cooperation in the long run. The ACC is willing to strengthen cooperation with the VCCI to further play a positive role in building the ASEAN-China comprehensive strategic partnership, and advancingVietnam-China friendship.

Executive Vice Chairman Nguyen extended a warm welcome to Secretary General Shi and the Chinese business delegation and underlined that, under the guidance of the leaders of both countries, Vietnam-China relations have been flourishing at a high level and achieved a productive all-round cooperation. The VCCI highly appreciated the ACC’s contribution to promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation between ASEAN and China as well as between Vietnam and China. The VCCI will continue to support and participate in activities sponsored by the ACC, and establish closer cooperation with the ACC. VCCI also welcomed more Chinese enterprises coming to Vietnam for investment, which will help Vietnam’s development, thus contributing to the win-win cooperation between ASEAN and China.
