On 4 December 2019, CGTN Global Media Summit and CCTV+ Global Video Media Forum 2019, hosted by China Global Television Network and CCTV Video News Agency, was held in Beijing. Mr. Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Party Committee & President of China Media Group, Mr. Zheng Bijian, Chairman of China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, Mr. Yves Leterme, Former Prime Minister of Belgium, Mr. Oleg Dobrodeev, General Director of All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, attended the opening ceremony among around 400 representatives of different social sectors, including representatives of well-known international media organizations, and experts and scholars from home and abroad . Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the event upon invitation and exchanged views with the organizers and other guests.
The summit, with the theme of “Media and Technology”, focused on the new situation and new trends of the global media industry.
