From 26 to 27 July 2019, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) organised a trade and investment promotion mission to Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. The mission was led by Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of Trade and Investment Division (TID) of ACC and joined by about 20 Chinese entrepreneurs from Beijing and Guangdong Province.
The group visited the Chinese Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City. Consul-General Wu Jun and Commercial Counsellor Wei Xichen briefed the Chinese entrepreneurs on the development situation, investment environment and relevant laws and policies of Ho Chi Minh City, and offered suggestions on how to better engage in economic and trade cooperation, industrial investment and operation, financial integration, intelligent manufacturing, cross-border e-commerce as well as personnel exchange in Ho Chi Minh City and its surrounding provinces.
The group visited the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre of Ho Chi Minh City. Deputy Director Nguyen Tuan gave an overview of the mandate of the Centre and the foreign investment management system and regulations of the city.
The group visited AMATA City Bienhoa JSC. Mr. Osamu Sudo, Head of Marketing and Sales introduced the planning and operation management of the industrial park. He said that the first phase of the park had been successfully operating over the years, while the second and third phases were due to complete in the next couple of years, in the hope of attracting more Chinese investors. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on the international operation of the park, resource matching and project cooperation.
The Chinese entrepreneurs found the mission activities organized by ACC to be substantial and varied. Through this trip, the entrepreneurs acquired a wide understanding of Viet Nam’s industrial development direction and investment environment, saw the great potential within the trade and investment cooperation between Viet Nam and China, and had greater confidence in carrying out business cooperation for win-win results in Viet Nam and ASEAN at large, as well as identified the direction for future cooperation.
