Director-General of Economic Affairs Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR Led a Delegation to Visit ACC

On 6 March 2018, Mr. Songkane Luangmunithone, Director-General of Economic Affairs Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR, led a delegation to visit ASEAN-China Centre (ACC). The delegation visited the exhibition hall of ACC and held talks with ACC officials.

Ms. Huang Ying, Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division of ACC, extended warm welcome to the delegation and briefed on ACC’s mandate, organizational structure, recent works and work plan. She said that this year is the 15th anniversary of ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership as well as the ASEAN-China Year of Innovation. ACC is actively implementing the 21 flagship projects approved by the Joint Council. ACC looked forward to the continuous support from various sectors of Lao PDR.

Director-General Songkane Luangmunithone extended gratitude to the ACC’s warm hospitality and attached great importance to the role played by ACC in promoting ASEAN-China practical cooperation. He briefed on the mandate of the Department of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR, which is mainly engaged in Lao PDR’s participation in sub-regional cooperation and co-building of the Belt and Road. The Department looks forward to strengthening exchanges with ACC with an aim to achieve new success in mutual cooperation.

The delegation and ACC officials exchanged views on topics including how to strengthen ASEAN-China trade and economic relations.
