ACC Participated in the International Production Capacity Cooperation and Talent Cultivation Forum

On 2 August 2016, the International Production Capacity Cooperation and Talent Cultivation Forum was convened during the 9th CAECW in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. This forum was co-hosted by the secretariat of the Organization Committee of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) and Guizhou Provincial Government, supported by ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), Thailand-Chinese Culture and Economic Association and HRIE International Education Group. The Forum was attended by almost 70 participants including Dr. Chanchai Chairuang, the Former Minister of Industry of Thailand, Mr. Tang Zhimin, Director of China-ASEAN Research Center & Chia Tai Group, representatives from government of China, embassies in Beijing, universities and colleges, as well as education related enterprises from China and abroad. Mr. Tri Purnajaya, Director of Education Culture and Tourism Division, on behalf of ACC, attended the forum and addressed the Forum.

In his remarks, Director Purnajaya said that ACC was committed to being an efficient and effective facilitator to bridge the interests of the ASEAN Member States and China through collaborative approach and functional cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, education, culture and tourism for mutually beneficial outcomes. He further added that, the key to realizing international production capacity cooperation was talents cultivation, in which education was the foundation. Director Purnajaya highlighted ACC’s achievements in the field of education, its flagship projects and contribution in light of the 2016 ASEAN-China Education Exchange Year, and expressed that ACC continued to strengthen cooperation with all walks of life of ASEAN and China to elevate education cooperation to a new level.

Representatives of ASEAN Embassies in Beijing, universities from China and ASEAN, as well as other embassy representatives such as Russia and Republic of Korea exchanged views and shared experience in education policy, system, international education cooperation and so forth, and explored cooperation in the future.
