ACC Secretary-General Met with Chinese Vice Minister of Culture

On 15 July 2015, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with H.E. Mr. Ding Wei, Chinese Vice Minister of Culture. Mr. Sun Jianhua, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Liaison of the Ministry of Culture (MOC) of China, was also present at the meeting. 

Vice Minister Ding Wei congratulated Secretary-General Yang for her assumption of the new post, and briefed on the recent development of ASEAN-China cultural exchanges. He commended ACC’s efforts in enhancing cultural exchanges between ASEAN and China, particularly through the colorful and diversified events organized by ACC in commemoration of the 2014 ASEAN-China Cultural Exchange Year, and pledged the continued strong support from the MOC to ACC in its future work. 

Secretary-General Yang expressed her gratitude for MOC’s continued support to the work of ACC. She expressed that culture was a strong bond linking the peoples of ASEAN and China, and ACC would continue to work closely with the MOC to deepen people-to-people exchanges, so as to further elevate cultural cooperation between ASEAN and China to a new level.
